Manchester City have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Kevin De Bruyne after the attacker confirmed he will ply his trade with Wolfsburg for the remainder of this season.
City have been strongly linked with a move for the creative midfielder as they look to bolster their already impressive squad.
Reports over the weekend suggested the Citizens would make a renewed bid for the Belgium international as they look to add to their attack.
However, De Bruyne has confirmed that he will remain at the Volkswagen Arena for the upcoming campaign.
"This season, I will definitely be playing for Wolfsburg," the 24-year-old is quoted as saying at the SportsBILDawards ceremony on Monday night.
