Fpl: Who to buy?- defenders and goal keepers ; part 1

, , No Comments
The first gameweek was horrifying to say the least for many for the fpl managers in the Engilsh premier league. Many expected hits from the last season to spark off their season based on previous statistics. Believe you me, many broke the kitty and spent big to get last season's top performers in the thought that they were sure investments. However this went wrong for many from the goalie stretching across the pitch to the forwards. The questions many are now trying to answer is who is the solution, who to invest in and which teams are defensively solid going forward.
We take a look at this game- week's performers.

Goalkeepers:

Many people invested on Arsenal's Cech and Chelsea's Courtois and were aggrevated by their results in the first gamweek. Highest teams selected by rankings:Cech-25.1%, Courtois-20.1%, Schwazer-16.4%, Hart-13.2%, Fabianski-11.0%. For those looking on to jump ship and salvage some points for cleansheets, here are some the top performers:

Adrian- West ham- 11 points
Was solid at the post and ensured that West Ham came off the Emirates with a clean sheet. He is good and affordable keeper and is not selected by many managers.
Sergio Romero- Manchester United- 8 points
With much speculation about United's De Gea, the Argentine keeper has gotten some unexpected game time. He is oddly cheap enough and will attract some good points if the defense sticks solid as in the opener.
Bradley Guzan- Aston Villa- 6 points
He is among the cheapest goalies getting first team game time. For all those wishing to spend little on goalies then the Aston Villa keeper is your man for the job.
Joe Hart- Manchester City- 6 points
Hart is undoubtedly a great keeper and will definitely keep out many balls which will attract him bonus points. He is known for his avid clean sheets record.
Simon Mignolet- Liverpool- 6 points

Defenders

Vincent Kompany- Manchester City- 14 points
Vincent Kompany accompanied his goal with a clean sheet and five recoveries which saw him earn 2 bonus points. He is a good investment for those willing to spend money.
Joseph Gomez- Liverpool- 11 points
Joe Gomez’s Barclays Premier League debut ended with the Liverpool defender collecting maximum BP after helping his side win 1-0 against Stoke City. The 18-year-old supplied the assist for the only goal of the match and kept a clean sheet
Chris Smalling- Manchester United- 9 points
United defender Chris Smalling achieved maximum Bonus Points (BP) thanks to a clean sheet that was accredited from 10 recoveries and two tackles. A United defender will do many managers a lot of good and Smalling is certain to have a lot of game time.
Jordn Amavi- Aston Villa- 9 points
He doesn't cost that much and doesn't have many people who have selected him. Villa defender Jordan Amavi collected three BP after completing nine CBI, eight recoveries, four dribbles and three tackles alongside a clean sheet. He might turn out to be a shocker this season.
Damien Delaney- Crystal Palace- 9 points
Crystal Palace are certainly good at keeping clean sheets as they rely centrally on defense tactics. Damien Delaney netted from close range following Souare’s headed assist.
Matteo Darmian- Manchetser United- 9 points
The United defender has simply been impressive at the back enough to gain Van Gaal's vote of confidence at his debut game in the season. Being a full- back Darmian will certainly get in good positions to score  and assist.
