Many managers were disappointed with the performance of their midfielders and forwards since they mostly captained players from this positions. The epl campaign 2015/16 has seen many clubs undergo tremendous change at the front in hopes of increasing their goal tally this season. This has left many puzzled on who will get game time and make the first team roster. As such, we take a look at which players performed in gameweek 1.

Midfielders:


Yaya Toure- Man City- 16 points
Yaya Toure was in great form, scoring the first two goals and completing over 90% of his attempted passes.He is going to be yet another influential player to City this season and hopefully he can replicate if not exceed his performance in the 2013/14 season. He is overpriced like in the previous season and is selected by 8.1% teams so that's also a major plus for many managers.

Riyad Mahrez- Leicester City- 15 points.
The Leicester midfielder is valued at 5.6 and selected by only 6.9% teams. Riyad Mahrez scored twice inside the opening 25 minutes as Leicester City beat Sunderland 4-2 at King Power Stadium. The Algeria midfielder also produced four key passes, three dribbles, two open play crosses and created a big chance.

Marc Albrighton- Leicester City- 15 points.
Yet another player that many got to see steal the show last weekend. He is valued at 5.0 and will prove to be a crucial acquisition for those mangers who aren't willing to spend big. The Leicester midfielder scored the fourth goal of the match after earlier providing two assists. With a very low selection rate managers will be happy to see the mid increase in value.

Yohan Cabaye- Crystal Palace- 10 points
Yohan Cabaye’s return to the Barclays Premier League ended with maximum BP as Crystal Palace saw off Norwich City 3-1 at Carrow Road. The France midfielder scored a goal deep into added time and his performance also consisted of 10 recoveries, five CBI and four successful tackles. He is valued at 6.5 and will surely invrease in value after displaying such talent and form in the opening game.

Andre Ayew- Swansea City- 10 points
New signing Andre Ayew bagging maximum BP. The Ghana international scored Swansea’s first equalizer, made eight recoveries and completed a dribble.

Forwards:


Arouna Kone- Everton- 9 points
The Everton forward scored the final goal of the match and registered an assist. As expected he will partner with Romelu Lukaku in attack and enjoy a fair share of game time. He is likely too bag in around 10 goals and a couple of assists.

Pappis Cisse- Newcastle- 9 points
Papiss Cisse made the score 1-1 shortly before half-time and, alongside four recoveries, two tackles and an open play cross, the Newcastle forward achieved maximum BP.

Mauro Zarate- West Ham- 8 points
Mauro Zarate gave West Ham a 2-0 lead in the second half with a low strike from the edge of the box. The Hammers’ forward additionally amassed 12 CBI, seven recoveries and two dribbles.

Rudy Gestede- Aston Villa- 6 points
Rudy Gestede came on as a second half substitute and the Villa frontman proved to be the difference between the two sides with the only goal of the match.

Bafetimbi Gomis- Swansea- 6 points
Gomis is key in Swansea's attack and will certainly score goals in this season.
