With Fox Sports giving soccer fans in the United States a serious look at the Bundesliga for the first time in a long time, many fans will be tuning in for the first time. For many the upcoming 2015-16 season will be the first glimpse of the league as a whole, and with that in mind we give you a guide to each team. Good luck picking your side to support.
The United States' 5-2 win over Japan to capture its third Women's World Cup title drew 25.4 million viewers to Fox on Sunday night, according to Nielsen.
UPDATE: That massive audience makes it the most-watched soccer game in
U.S. history, surpassing the previous record set during last summer's
men's World Cup.
This figures in viewership will increase Bundesliga's popularity and finally offer the German league a superior frontier to compete with English premier league and Spanish league La Liga. This will increase profits in terms of sale and branding in the US market for the German league.
The main question however is whether the Americans will be drawn to the football universe as in Europe and form a soccer culture that can match up American football or even outrank it.
A recent win of Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich over Real Madrid extends to show the extent of which the league has grown over the years and will draw many fans due to their current stats.
